I've been fascinated by cars since I was very young. At that age, I barely understood the concept of driving, but I thought, "Oh my God, I love these things.”

I think it was the mix of engineering and design, speed, and power that drew me in. And that curiosity and passion for cars only grew as my ability to understand them expanded. As a kid, I studied them with the seriousness and focus of a professor. I knew every make and model. I knew all the stats, like power, weight and acceleration. I filled my notebooks with random car facts. I had posters and magazines. Even though I’d never actually driven a car, I had theories and opinions about them all!

It felt like it took forever, but I did eventually turn 18 and start driving. My first car was pretty boring and I knew immediately that I needed more out of my driving experience. I saved up for years, and bought a true driver’s car - a Lancia Delta Integrale. It was a revelation: I could feel through my hands and feet and butt what good engineering and design could achieve. I crashed it almost immediately but that didn’t stop me. My love grew deeper.

Since then, I have spent countless days on track developing my driving skills, finding the limits of what I and my cars can do.

I know what it’s like to try and find the perfect line, to push to go faster, to spin and crash, to make a pass in the last corner to win a race, and also to lose. I think that in many ways, finding the limits of my skills and equipment can also be said about my career as a director and DP.

I’m very fortunate to have a job that allows me to spend so much time in the automotive world. I’m glad that my passion for cars is a benefit to the quality of my creative work, helping clients express their own automotive passion.

I like to think that my lifelong obsession with cars has allowed me to see fine details and subtle feelings that are hard to capture on camera.

Whether shooting a high-energy chase scene or doing static shots in a studio, it’s always my goal to allow others to see these beautiful cars the way I see them. I want people to feel like they’re with me, seeing the scene in person, feeling as excited as a little kid.
